Blair Thornley’s whimsical drawings have appeared in The New York Times,
Vanity Fair, Vogue, Atlantic Monthly, Forbes, Ray Gun and other national
publications. Raised on the East Coast, Thornley studied art in
Florence, Italy and later attended New York’s Parsons School of Design.
In the 1990’s she moved to California, and branched out into a new
medium; animation. Thornley’s humorous short feature, “Underwear
Stories” traveled the country in Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation,
and also garnered a New York City Art Directors Award.
Blair has transformed the magic of her illustrations into beautiful
paintings that showcase her quirky view of the world. She has exhibited
her work in a show entitled “Automobile” at the Pasadena Museum of
California Art , the Judy A. Saslow Gallery in Chicago, and the Harmon Gallery.
